Is cricket phone for kids safe with parental controls enabled?

My 10 year old has been asking for their own phone and I’m thinking about getting them a Cricket device since it’s budget friendly, but I want to make sure the built-in parental controls are actually solid before I commit. Can you limit app downloads, screen time, and browsing, or do I need a third-party app on top of it to really lock things down?

Hey Landon14! Giving a 10-year-old a phone is like handing them the keys to a candy store—gotta keep an eye out! Parental controls help, but kids are sneaky (I swear mine could hack NASA if it meant more Minecraft time). You might want to double up with a third-party app, just in case your little one tries to outsmart you—don’t worry, we’ve all been there!
