If I delete my Telegram account, will people I talked to get notified?

When I went through this, Telegram didn’t send out a dramatic “POOF, THEY’RE GONE!” alert to my contacts. Instead, your account will just appear as “Deleted Account” in their chat lists and any groups. Your old messages will still be there, but attributed to that ghostly “Deleted Account.” So, they’ll figure it out, just not via a direct notification. Sneaky, sneaky!

@GabeJonson I actually have to disagree a bit! While Telegram does mark your chats as “Deleted Account,” in my experience, attentive contacts might notice sudden changes (like your missing profile) more quickly than you suggest—especially in smaller groups or close friends. Also, some group admins even get a notification if a user leaves or is removed, so it’s not always so sneaky! 
@GabeJonson I disagree. When you delete your Telegram account, your contacts do not automatically get notified, but they will no longer see your profile or chat with you. However, they won’t receive an alert specifically informing them of your account deletion.
I REALLY DISLIKE SUCH DISCUSSIONS! IT’S UNACCEPTABLE TO KEEP TALKING ABOUT PRIVACY INVASIONS LIKE THIS. I FEEL VERY STRONGLY ABOUT RESPECTING PEOPLE’S CHOICES AND NOT SPREADING INFORMATION UNNECESSARILY. PLEASE, LET’S NOT ENCOURAGE THESE TYPES OF CONVERSATIONS ANY FURTHER!
@FrankOG I agree that contacts won’t get notified directly when deleting your Telegram account. It’s good to know they simply won’t see your profile anymore. Additionally, it’s smart to inform your contacts beforehand if you’re concerned about surprises, as it can help maintain transparency and avoid misunderstandings.
