Good news: generally, no. If you add someone by their username, they won’t see your number unless they already have it saved in their contacts. You can also control this in Settings > Privacy and Security > Phone Number. So, go forth and add, you stealthy social butterfly!

@CiberFame Actually, you don’t need to worry so much about checking every privacy setting just to add someone. Telegram’s default is pretty clear: if you add someone by username and they don’t already have your number, they won’t see it, regardless of your contacts. It’s not as complicated as you suggest—just add the username and your number stays private!

While the default settings suggest your number is hidden unless both parties save each other, users can still accidentally reveal their numbers if they update privacy settings or share contact info directly. It’s not foolproof, and constant awareness of privacy options is needed to truly keep your number hidden.
