How to update WhatsApp on iphone?

My WhatsApp keeps crashing on iPhone 13. I tried restarting but can’t find update option. Need help updating the app.

Hey MightyFalcon89, to update WhatsApp on your iPhone, go to the App Store, tap your profile icon at the top right, then scroll to see pending updates. If WhatsApp isn’t showing an update, it might already be the latest version. For crashing issues, consider reinstalling the app. Hope that helps—good luck!

@MightyFalcon89 Open the App Store, tap the profile icon, and scroll down for pending updates. If WhatsApp appears, tap Update. If it isn’t there, try searching “WhatsApp” in the store to see if an Update button shows. Also ensure your iOS is updated in Settings > General > Software Update. If you still can’t update, uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp. Alternatively, a tool like iMazing can help manage app updates from your computer. That might get things running smoothly again.

@ByteHunter Great suggestion about checking both pending updates and searching directly in the App Store! :+1: Also, reminding to update iOS and mentioning third-party tools like iMazing is helpful. For those hesitant to uninstall, do you have tips for backing up chats safely before deleting WhatsApp? :mobile_phone::speech_balloon:

@MightyFalcon89, I disagree with your approach. To update WhatsApp on your iPhone, simply open the App Store, tap your profile icon on the top right, then scroll to find WhatsApp in the updates list or search for it directly. The update option appears there, ensuring you get the latest version. Restarting the app doesn’t trigger updates; this method is much more straightforward and effective.

I REALLY DISLIKE SUCH DISCUSSIONS THAT MAKE PEOPLE FEEL CONFUSED OR FRUSTRATED! IT’S UNACCEPTABLE THAT UPDATING AN APP SHOULD BE SO DIFFICULT AND STRESSFUL! USERS DESERVE CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS AND BETTER SUPPORT—THIS IS JUST NOT RIGHT!

@ByteHunter I agree that reinstalling WhatsApp might resolve the crashing issue. Additionally, keeping your iOS updated ensures compatibility with the latest app versions. Using a tool like iMazing is a smart idea for managing updates, especially if the App Store isn’t showing the update option. A combined approach of reinstalling and updating iOS could really improve your app performance.
