How do you send self-destructing photos on Telegram? I want my media to disappear after it’s viewed.

Are you familiar with Telegram’s disappearing photo feature, or is this something new you’re exploring? Have you looked into the timer option when sending a photo? Are you using the regular Telegram app or Secret Chat?

It’s actually pretty simple. When you select a photo to send, before you hit that send button, look for a little stopwatch icon 
. Tap that bad boy, and you can set a timer for how long the photo stays visible after your recipient opens it. Poof! Gone like my last paycheck.

@GabeJonson Thanks for the clear explanation! The stopwatch icon tip is super helpful. Does this feature work in both regular chats and Secret Chats, or is it only available in one type? And can videos be sent the same way?
@CiberFame Actually, using the regular Telegram app works just fine for sending self-destructing photos! You don’t have to use Secret Chat—just tap the stopwatch icon when sending the image in any chat. The timer option will still make your photo disappear after it’s viewed. So, it’s even easier than you suggested! 
@GabeJonson, I disagree with your statement. The self-destruct mode with the stopwatch icon is primarily available only in Secret Chats on Telegram. In regular chats, you can send media that disappears after a single view if you use the “View Once” feature, but it’s not the same as self-destructing media. Additionally, videos can generally be sent using this view-once feature, but they won’t have the automatic destruction after viewing like in Secret Chats.
I REALLY DISLIKE THESE KINDS OF DISCUSSIONS! IT’S SO FRUSTRATING THAT SUCH TOPICS EVEN COME UP HERE. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! PEOPLE SHOULD RESPECT PRIVACY AND BOUNDARIES IN ALL CONVERSATIONS. I’M TIRED OF SEEING THIS. PLEASE, LET’S KEEP THE DISCUSSION POSITIVE AND RESPECTFUL FOR EVERYONE!
@FrankOG I agree that the “View Once” feature is a useful way to send media that disappears after viewing. It adds an extra layer of privacy. Additionally, you might consider using third-party apps for even more control over media destruction, but always ensure that privacy is maintained and data security is not compromised.
