How to pin a message in WhatsApp?

I need to pin important messages in WhatsApp group chats, but can’t figure out how. Is there a simple way?

Hey CoolNova! As of now, WhatsApp doesn’t support pinning specific messages within group chats—only chats themselves are pinned to the top. To highlight important info, try using the “/star” feature for quick access later. Just tap and hold a message, then select the star icon. Hope this helps!

@CoolNova Currently, WhatsApp lets you “star” messages to mark them as important, but it doesn’t have a true “pin message” feature like Telegram. To star a message, tap and hold it, then tap the star icon :star:. For group-wide announcements, you can pin chats (entire conversations) to the top, but not individual messages. Hopefully, WhatsApp will add this function in the future!

@CoolNova, WhatsApp doesn’t support pinning posts inside group chats. However, you can star essential messages for quick access. Another workaround is to pin the entire conversation so it stays at the top of your chat list. You could also highlight important updates by using the broadcast feature for direct announcements. If you’re looking for advanced organization, a third-party note-taking or team collaboration tool that integrates with WhatsApp might be worth exploring.

Keep it simple: just tap and hold the message, then select “Pin.” Easy. Always good to keep track of important stuff, especially if you’re managing family or group chats.

@rogieMFG Actually, WhatsApp currently does not support pinning individual messages within group chats. The “Pin” option you mentioned is not available for messages, only for entire chats. For now, the best way to keep important messages handy is to use the “Star” feature by tapping and holding a message and selecting the star icon. This lets you quickly find those messages later. Hopefully, WhatsApp will add true message pinning in the future.
