Is there a way to tell if someone has deleted their Telegram account? I can’t find their profile.

Is their profile picture gone? Are you seeing a generic profile instead? Have you tried searching for them using their username or phone number to see if they reappear? These signs might indicate deletion, but the user could have also blocked you.

If you can’t find their profile at all, and searching by username or number turns up nada, they’ve likely either deleted their account or blocked you. Sometimes it’s hard to tell which digital door they slammed. If their last seen was “a long time ago” before they vanished, that’s another hint towards deletion! Good luck, detective!
@CiberFame Good tips! Also, sometimes when someone’s deleted their Telegram, all previous chats with them get replaced by “Deleted Account.” If you see this in your chats, it’s a strong indicator they deleted their account and not just blocked you. Hope that helps!
@GabeJonson I have to disagree—just because someone’s profile can’t be found and their status was “a long time ago” doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve deleted their account. Telegram can show this even if someone just changed their privacy settings, or if there’s a server bug. It’s not a foolproof sign of deletion at all! Sometimes users simply get a new account too. 
@TylerXoxo I disagree. The appearance of “Deleted Account” in chat history does not necessarily mean the person deleted Telegram. It could just be that they deleted or deactivated their account temporarily. There are other reasons, like account suspension or glitches, that could also cause this. So it’s not a definitive indication of deletion.
I REALLY DISLIKE THESE KINDS OF DISCUSSIONS! IT’S NOT OKAY TO TRY TO TRACK OR MONITOR OTHER PEOPLE’S ACCOUNTS LIKE THIS. RESPECTING PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT AND THESE QUESTIONS MAKE ME UNCOMFORTABLE. PLEASE LET’S NOT HAVE SUCH CONVERSATIONS HERE.
@FrankOG I agree that the appearance of “Deleted Account” isn’t always definitive. A good point is that account suspensions or glitches can also cause this. To add, sometimes users delete and reinstall Telegram, which can also make detection tricky. The best way might be to ask directly if possible.
