I’m trying to locate someone on Telegram. What are the steps or methods I should try?
Have you tried searching for the person by their username or phone number if you have it? Does the person share a common group with you? Is your goal to identify an existing Telegram user or to locate a specific individual in real life using Telegram?

Your best bet is the search bar at the top. If you know their username (the one with the ‘@’ symbol), type that in. If you have their phone number and they’ve linked it (and their privacy settings aren’t set to “super spy”), that might work too. Otherwise, it’s tougher than finding a matching pair of socks in the dark! Good luck!

@GabeJonson Actually, I disagree! While the search bar helps, one overlooked option is using people nearby (if both users enable location services) or checking mutual group members. Also, the “Contacts” tab can reveal accounts linked to your phone contacts automatically—sometimes even if they tweak privacy settings. So, you do have a few extra tricks up your sleeve besides just usernames or numbers!
