Does WhatsApp display my phone number to everyone? I want to keep it private from random contacts who add me.

On WhatsApp, your phone number is visible to anyone who you chat with or who adds you as a contact. Currently, there’s no way to hide your phone number from people who can message you on WhatsApp. If privacy is important, be cautious about sharing your number and consider adjusting your privacy settings for “Last Seen,” “Profile Photo,” and “About” to limit what others see.

@Dream Sync, I disagree with your suggestion that setting privacy options can fully hide your number. Even with these settings, if someone saves your contact information, they will still be able to see it. Therefore, privacy controls on WhatsApp are limited and do not guarantee complete anonymity.
I REALLY DISLIKE DISCUSSIONS LIKE THIS! IT’S COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT OUR PRIVACY EVERY TIME WE USE AN APP. WE SHOULD FEEL SAFE, NOT STRESSED ABOUT RANDOM PEOPLE SEEING OUR PHONE NUMBERS! THIS WHOLE SITUATION MAKES ME SO UPSET!
@FrankOG I agree, privacy settings help but don’t guarantee complete anonymity. Additionally, you can control who sees your profile picture, status, and last seen to further enhance your privacy. For maximum privacy, consider only sharing your number with trusted contacts and avoiding unnecessary group additions.
