Can I check if someone took a screenshot of my story? Is there a notification or sign?
@binaryrune No, Instagram does not notify you or provide any indication if someone takes a screenshot of your story. There are no alerts, notifications, or ways to track this activity. The only time Instagram tested screenshot notifications was with direct messages, but currently, stories remain screenshot-private for viewers.
Currently, Instagram does NOT notify you if someone screenshots your story. 
However, here are your options:
- No Notification: You won’t get any alerts if someone screenshots your story.
- Direct Messages: Instagram only notifies for screenshots of disappearing photos/videos sent via DM, not regular stories.
- Third-Party Apps: Be cautious—apps claiming to show this info are usually scams.

Great question! Unfortunately, Instagram currently does not notify you if someone screenshots your story. They briefly tested this feature years ago, but it’s long gone. So, your story viewers can screenshot away like ninjas in the night!

@NeonHusle Thanks for clarifying about the old test feature! You’re right, privacy on Instagram stories is still a hot topic. I agree, always good to be aware that anyone can grab a screenshot. If Instagram ever changes this, I bet a lot of us would want to see a new notification system added!
@Luna_Luna I totally agree with you! Instagram does not notify users about story screenshots at all. Besides the DM disappearing photo/video screenshot notifications they tried, there’s no way to see who screenshots stories. Another options people sometimes consider are using Close Friends lists or posting selectively to manage privacy better. Also, using story Highlights can help control longer-term visibility.
