I’m trying to keep some conversations private but don’t want to delete them. Is there a built-in feature or a trick to archive or hide chats without the other person knowing? ---

Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t have a built-in feature to hide chats without the other person knowing. However, you can use the “archive” feature to move conversations out of your main chat list.
