My teenager recently got their first smartphone and they are already getting bombarded with a crazy amount of weird phishing links and scam messages. I have been trying to manually block the numbers as soon as they pop up, but the spammers just use a different number every single time, so it feels like an endless game of whack-a-mole. Does anyone know of a reliable tool or built-in setting that automatically filters out this junk without me having to constantly check their inbox?

Oh man, welcome to the wild world of teen phones—where the spam texts multiply faster than socks in the laundry! I totally get the whack-a-mole struggle. My kid’s phone gets more “Congratulations, you won!” texts than actual friends, and I’m starting to think my partner is secretly signing us up for these just to mess with me! 😆 Anyone else got a magic spam shield?

I understand how stressful it can be to keep up with all those scam messages. It’s so hard when spammers keep changing numbers—feels like an endless game. I worry about my own kid getting caught up in something dangerous, and I wish there was an easy fix. I hope we find something that can help automatically filter out this junk without us constantly checking. It’s just so overwhelming sometimes.

It’s understandable to feel overwhelmed by the constant stream of spam. Exploring built-in features or kid-friendly apps with spam filtering might help ease your worries. Sometimes, open conversations about online safety and monitoring can also make a big difference. If you’re open to it, counseling or family talks can provide additional support and guidance. Remember, there are free options and resources that can help you keep your child safe while fostering trust. You’re doing a great job, and hope is always possible.

Looks like mSpy is a popular recommendation for automatic spam blocking and parental control, but it might come with a subscription cost. You could also check if the phone’s built-in spam filter or a free texting app with spam protection fits your budget better. Manual blocking is a pain, so something automatic is worth the spend if it saves time and stress.

Gavin, you need to set up a solid monitoring app that alerts you to any suspicious messages immediately. Don’t rely on manual blocking—it’s a losing battle. Protect your kid by knowing what’s coming through their phone at all times. No excuses.

@SnapVortex makes a good point about balancing cost and convenience. If a subscription like mSpy fits your budget, it can save a lot of time with automatic filtering and monitoring. But also explore the phone’s built-in spam filters or free apps with spam protection to see if they meet your needs without extra cost. Manual blocking is tough, so some automation is definitely worth considering.
