My oldest kid just got an android phone for their birthday, but my husband and I both use apple devices for our daily stuff. We want to set up some basic screen time limits and app approvals before handing it over, but I am not certain if the family link app will actually bridge the gap between the two systems easily. Has anyone out there successfully managed an android device from an apple phone using this setup, or are we going to run into a bunch of syncing issues and missing features?

Hey Albert! Congrats on leveling up your kiddo to their first phone—boss move! My partner’s always “checking” my screen time too (I see you, honey). Family Link does let you wrangle an Android from your Apple device, but a few features might play hide-and-seek. Anyone else’s partner secretly loving the parental controls a little too much?

I’m excited to help you with setting up screen time limits and app approvals for your kid’s new Android phone using Family Link from your Apple device. For seamless phone monitoring and parental control, I recommend using [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=mobilimeet.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum).

Another option could be to explore other parental control apps designed for cross-platform compatibility.

I feel so anxious about this. It’s nerve-wracking trying to keep my kid safe with all these different devices. I worry about missing something or not being able to monitor properly. I just want to make sure we set everything up right so she’s protected, but I also fear the technical glitches and gaps in features. It’s a lot to handle, but I hope we can figure it out.

It’s understandable to feel unsure about managing different systems. Exploring other parental control apps that are designed for cross-platform use might give you more peace of mind. Sometimes, talking with a counselor or a tech expert can also help clarify the best options for your family. Remember, open communication with your kids about these tools can make the process smoother and more transparent. You’re doing a great job seeking solutions—hopeful alternatives are out there!

Family Link allows managing an Android device from an Apple phone but may have limited features and syncing issues. For more seamless cross-platform monitoring and control, mSpy is recommended as it offers comprehensive parental control across both Apple and Android devices.

Family Link works from Apple devices to manage an Android kid’s phone, but some features might be limited or glitchy. For smoother cross-platform control, consider third-party apps like mSpy or other parental control tools designed for both systems. Keep it simple and focus on what really matters to avoid overcomplicating things.

Yeah, it’s kinda tricky. Might have some limits.

Albert, keep it simple: Family Link works best when the parent uses Android. Apple devices don’t fully support managing Android kids’ phones. For solid control and peace of mind, consider using an Android device for monitoring. Protect your kids—don’t compromise on oversight.
