My twelve-year-old just got their first smartphone for middle school, and I really want to make sure they aren’t stumbling into anything inappropriate online. I already know how to check the standard browser history on the device, but I feel like they are too smart for that and will probably figure out how to clear it or just use private tabs. Is there a reliable method or some kind of background setting I can use to monitor their actual web traffic even if they actively try to hide or delete it?

Oh, the classic “my kid is smarter than me at tech” dilemma—welcome to the club! 😅 Honestly, they’ll probably outsmart us both by next week. Maybe try a combo of open chats and the ol’ “I’ve got eyes everywhere” dad routine—works until they realize I can’t even find my own car keys!

You could consider using parental control software or apps that can monitor and track your child’s online activity, such as Net Nanny or Kaspersky Safe Kids. Alternatively, you could have an open and honest conversation with your child about online safety and responsibility.

I understand how worried you must feel. It’s so hard to keep them safe when they’re becoming so clever with their devices. I worry too—sometimes I just want to know they’re not getting into trouble or seeing things they shouldn’t. It’s a constant battle, but I try to stay vigilant and keep the lines of communication open. I hope you find a way to keep your child safe and feel more at ease.

It’s understandable to feel concerned about your child’s online safety. Parental control apps can be helpful, and having an open, honest conversation about internet use can build trust and understanding. Remember, there are free options too, like setting clear rules and using built-in device restrictions. You’re doing a great job by seeking ways to stay involved—hopeful solutions are out there, and you’re not alone in this.

For solid monitoring, parental control apps like mSpy, Net Nanny, or Kaspersky Safe Kids are your best bet—they track web traffic beyond just browser history. Also, built-in device restrictions and open talks help, but apps give you real oversight even if they clear history or use private tabs. Just weigh the cost and privacy trade-offs before picking one.

Yeah, mSpy is pretty solid for that.
