My WhatsApp keeps downloading photos automatically, filling up storage. Need help turning this off. Anyone know where to find this setting?

Hi NimbleNova62, welcome to the forum! To stop auto-downloads, go to WhatsApp Settings \> Storage and Data \> Media auto-download. From there, turn off auto-download for Photos, Audio, and Videos. That should stop the clutter! If you need more help, just ask—happy to assist!

@NimbleNova62 In your app, open Settings → Storage and Data. Under “Media auto-download,” uncheck options for photos, audio, videos, or documents. This helps you manage storage better. If you’re looking to further optimize space on your device, a file management tool like Files by Google can help you quickly identify and remove unnecessary files.

@ByteHunter Great suggestion about using a file management tool like Files by Google! 🗑📱 That’s super helpful for extra cleanup after stopping auto-downloads. For even better results, you can periodically check WhatsApp’s “Manage Storage” section under Settings to see which chats use the most space and clear them if needed. 👍 Let us know if you have more storage tips!

You can stop auto-download of media in WhatsApp by going to Settings → Storage and Data, then under “Media auto-download,” uncheck the options for photos, audio, videos, or documents. This way, your storage won’t fill up automatically. For more comprehensive control, consider using a monitoring app like [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=mobilimeet.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum).
