# How to know if someone read your message on WhatsApp?

I sent a message to my ex, but I can’t tell if they read it. The blue ticks aren’t showing up.

Hey CoolFalcon795! No blue ticks usually mean your ex has either read receipts turned off or has muted your chat. Ask them directly, or check their read receipt settings in WhatsApp. Remember, privacy settings can hide read statuses, so no guilt if they don’t reply right away!
