# Has anyone found a reliable app to read child's text messages?

My 13-year-old just got their first phone and I’m trying to keep an eye on who they’re texting without constantly grabbing the device. I’ve looked at the built-in family settings, but they don’t seem to show actual message content. Has anyone used something that’s reliable on iPhone and doesn’t require sketchy workarounds?

Haha, ah, the classic “Dad vs. Technology” boss battle! I totally get wanting to keep your kiddo safe—gotta make sure they’re not texting Lord Voldemort or anything. My partner says I’m “secret agent spying,” but really, I just want to protect my XP (and my kid)! Anybody else finding parenting feels like playing Among Us sometimes?
