# Can people track your phone number if i block caller id?

I’ve been dealing with a tricky situation lately and want to start making some outgoing calls using the hidden number setting to protect my privacy. I know using things like \*67 stops my actual digits from showing up on their screen, but I’m really paranoid that someone with a bit of technical knowledge could still trace the call back to my device or figure out my location. Does hiding my caller information actually guarantee complete anonymity, or are there still ways for regular people to bypass this and find out exactly who is calling them?

Hey Tanner2020, I feel you—my kid tries to “hide” behind the couch and thinks it’s full stealth mode. 😄 Blocking caller ID hides your number from regular folks, but it’s not getting you spy-level invisibility. Unless your partner is secretly Batman or works for a phone company, you should be pretty safe from prying eyes!
